'Over Under'
Snæfellsnes Peninsula - 2016
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is home to a huge number seabirds nesting in its cliffs. I hiked into this canyon to photograph a waterfall... Then plop! I looked up and thought wow, that will make a great photo!
Nordfjord Wonder - Aug 2015
Mt Skåla, Nordfjord
I camped in my bivy bag on a mostly snow caped Mt Skåla (1843m), shooting sunset and sunrise.
Mt Skåla is a hard hike! Starting at almost sea level you have over 1800m of just about constant ascent to get to the top. But the reward is spectacular! Being Norway's highest mountain with a foot in a fjord it offers 360 degree views over Nordfjord and the Sunnmøre Alps.
'Seljalandsfoss Twilight'
Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, South Iceland.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall is one of Iceland's most iconic waterfalls. Busload after busload of tourists come during the day to walk behind this amazing 60m waterfall plunging off once sea cliffs. I took this shot in between wind gusts at 10:30pm after sunset and after all those tourists had left.

With Vatnajökull Icecap in the background, mist rolling in, Arctic Terns calling, seals feeding and Ice groaning this is Iceland!
Capturing it with my 75mm shift-tilt compressed the vastness Vatnajökull Icecap and brought it in, commanding over the landscape like it does when you see it with your eyes.

'Lofty Night' - Aug 2015
Moskenesøya, Lofoten islands, Norway
I camped up on Mt Hermannsdalstinden (1029m) in my bivy bag, because I wanted to photograph sunset and sunrise overlooking the Lofoten Islands. I took this photo at midnight, looking east with as light glimmer of moonlight coming from the west.

Trollveggen Rains - Aug 2015
Romsdalen Valley, Norway
Trollveggen imposes itself over the Romsdalen valley making the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, with a 1,100m free fall. I took this photo on the powerful Rauma River. Though the weather was turning for the worse, I like what the dark feel and textured clouds gave to already imposing mountains.

'Land Between Sky and Sea' - Aug 2015
Mt Stetind, Nordland, Norway
Mt Stetind is Norway's national mountain and for good reason, it is almost 1400m and rises abruptly out of the Stefjorden fjord. Planning how to photograph this mountain started even before I got to Norway. I knew I wanted to photograph it from the fjord, so as soon as I got to the location I started looking for spots. Couldn't find any that I liked, so I went waterfall hiking and photographing with Stetind in the background. My good friend who was with me was helping search for spots, found this spot! So I waded out with my camera and tripod through the seaweed, waiting for half an hour in the cold fjord to get this shot.
Trollveggen Cloud Rising - Aug 2015
Romsdalen Valley, Norway
Trollveggen imposes itself over the Romsdalen valley making the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, with a 1,100m free fall. I hiked up from the other side of the range pushing through kms of snow to get this vantage point only to arrive and be clouded out. I decided to wait at the top for the cloud to clear, which was worth the wait despite the cold. The views were so spectacular it was hard to do the scene justice with photography.
Stortinden Twilight Reflection - Aug 2015
Flakstadøya, Lofoten Islands, Norway
Mt Stortinden abruptly rises 866m out of Flakstadpllen bay on the Island of Flakstadøya in the Lofoten Islands. The sun had set and the last light of the day was rapidly fading. A long 10 sec exposure was required to capture these wonderful blues.

Trollkirka Caves, Molde, Norway
This waterfall falls through a hole in a mountain into this white and green marble basin/cave. After eons of carving out this huge chamber that digs down even deeper to make another waterfall (Trollkirka Waterfall).

Seljalandsfoss, South Iceland.
The sun had set, surrounded in blowing yellow and green, twilight was fading ever so slowly and water misting to my face.
'Sunset Rocks'
'Snow Stream'
Landmannalaugar
A panorama taken with my one of favourite my lenses, the Pentax 645 35mm. This stream was wonderful, flowing between volcanos with the most variety of colours I've ever seen in any stream in the world. Blues, greens, browns, yellows, oranges, reds, blacks and whites!
'The Morning After'
Jökulsárlón
A huge storm had hit South Iceland the day before. The morning after Arctic Terns were flying in the mist in their 100s to pickup the food nature had churned up for them. I was waiting for the sun as large prices of ice were been broken up by waves and been smashed into the black sandy beach. Grinding ice, call birds, crashing waves and just me.
Moskenesøya's First Light - Aug 2015
Moskenesøya, Loften Islands, Norway
Hiking high up in the Loften Islands, I made it up mount Hermannsdalstinden, the tallest point on the Island of Moskenesøya for and made a camp before sunset. I photographed past midnight, only to have my alarm awake me at 3:20am to capture first light. Blue sea mist rolled over the Island from the North, colour appearing in the sky. This scenic majesty, kept my freezing hands warm from those cool Arctic winds.
'Pure'
'Pure'
Núpstaðarskógar Forest
I called these nameless falls 'pure', because these falls were my first introduction to wild Icelandic drinking water on my first day as a part of a 5 day trek. An Icelandic oasis!
